Europe's current immigration policy is inadaquate
Acceptance of applications for asylum in Europe are disjointed between EU countries

Example: Germany's accepted 48,000, compared to France and Italy's 21,000 each.

Doesn't Germany have more jobs, and thus more demand? Moreover its bigger, and closer to eastern europe.
There are significantly more asylum requests into Germany than into other EU countries

The current policy of de-emphasizing rescuing boat migrants to Europe is a way to deter future human suffering
Note: The EU followed this logic before April 2015 by cutting maritime rescue money by over 60%
If migrants know they will be rescued from drowning, they will be more willing to risk crossing the Mediterranean
The 2014 and 2015 maritime migration rates have been comparable, but the death rate has soared in 2015
Why might it not be just a rational result of differing demand or circumstances
