We should not defund our police
Though some police officers are corrupt and racist, the vast majority of officers have good intentions and are here to help us. Defunding our police doesn't help to stop the bad officers it only gives the police departments less money to get their jobs done. In major US cities like Chicago for example, the crime rates have jumped ever since they've defunded their police departments and it has become very difficult for the police to contain the situation.
The USA should spend a little less money on its military and focus on other aspects as well.
Currently, we spend around 700 billion dollars annually on our military. If we were to take out maybe 75 billion of that, imagine what we could do. We could fund NASA which receives only 22 billion. Or, we could improve our infrastructure. This can all be done while keeping the largest military in the world. if we were to spend 625 billion, instead of a whopping 700 billion, we would still outpace the second-largest military budget, China, who spends only 181 billion.
Destroying parts of our past will not make what happened in the past any better.
When we destroy our history, it shows that we cannot realize the mistakes we have made as a country. We should remember things that we have gone through and make sure not to make the same mistakes.
Commercial space flight will become normal one day.
Elon Musk and his company SpaceX, as well as Jeff Bezos with Blue Origin, have been working on making commercial spaceflight possible with things such as reusable rockets and other technologies that will make space travel possible one day. But, this may take a while as space flight isn't exactly cheap right now.
If every state were to vote in person, cases would surge and hospitals could become full
Wisconsin is just one example, imagine how many people would contract covid19 if every state had human contact all on the same day. Cases would surge even more than they are now and hospitals could be overwhelmed by the number of people who are sick.
The United States should convert to the Metric System.
The US, Myanmar, and Liberia are the only nations in the world that don't use the Metric System. It is time we use the system everyone has been using for years. This would make it easier to understand measurements in other countries as well as make it easier to share information globally.
